CHANGE Agents in Portugal – APF

Anabela Sani. Photo: © APFAnabela Sani was born on 15.07.1973 in Guinea Bissau. In Guinea she has collaborated with KAFO NGO. Now, Anabel is currently linked to the association “Children and Friends of Farim”, which focuses on community awareness-raising including sexuality and condom distribution. She argues that she feels responsible for the promotion of women’s rights.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Awa Seydi. Photo: © APFAwa Seydi was born on 04.10.1954 in Guinea Bissau. She belongs to a practicing community. Awa came to Portugal at the age of 42 with her husband. In Guinea she was a member of the “Democratic Union of Women Guineans” where she was involved in action informing women about health issues and rights. During this time Awa also collaborated with other associations such as Badim Clubo. Currently she’s working with the association of “Children and Friends of Farim”. Among other activities, she organized the African and Migrant’s Day in Barcarena. Besides she is working with the Islamic community from Tapada das Mercês. Moreover, she participated in the training on Community Intervention in the “Replace II” project, as well as in the regional conference on FGM in Amadora.

 

 

 

Cadijatu Suncar Balde. Photo: © APFCadidjatu Suncar Baldé was born on 22.07.1985 in Guinea Bissau. She belongs to a practicing community. Cadidjatu holds a degree in Political Science and International Relations. For five years now she is fighting the practice of FGM. Besides, she is doing research on the incidence of FGM in Portugal.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dauda Cruman. Photo: © APFDauda Cruman was born on 04.07.1975 in Guinea Bissau. He belongs to a practicing community, where he fights together with others to put an end to FGM. Dauda is currently working for the association “Children and Friends of Farim”. He participated in APF’s formation on community intervention and attended the Regional Meeting on FGM.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Diana Ferreira Lopes. Photo: © APFDiana Ferreira Lopes was born on 24.03.1986 in Guinea Bissau. She has a degree in law and holds a master in tax law. Diana has already been involved in the EU project "Replace II" as an Assistant Project Manager and as a Youth Coordinator in "Create Youth Network". Currently she is working as project manager within the Musqueba Movement in the project "A Network against FGM". In her opinion, the female education and empowerment are the best resources to fight FGM.

 

 

 

 

 

Eduardo Jalo. Photo: © APFEduardo Jaló was born on 08.08.1975 in Guinea Bissau. He has a degree in Public Administration Management. He is the president of the association “Children and Friends of Farim” and treasurer of Guineans Associations Federation in Portugal. He participated in the regional meeting on FGM in Amadora. Eduardo belongs to a practicing community. He wants to fight FGM considering that it is a violation of Human Rights.

 

 

 

 



Fatima Sano. Photo: © APFFátima Sanó was born on 05.02.1971 in Guinea Bissau. She belongs to a practicing community. She works for the association “Children and Friends of Farim” which carries out actions in different communities. She wants to become a CHANGE Agent because she would like to learn more about FGM in order to raise more awareness.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Filomena Djassi. Photo: © APFFilomena Djassi was born on 06.22.1984 in Guinea Bissau. She has a degree in Social Work and is a student of PhD. Filomena founded the Musqueba Movement in Guinea Bissau and continued the work of this association in Portugal with intervention campaigns, training and awareness actions. She worked in the area of training for migrants, particularly with regard to prevention of harmful practices.

 

 

 

 



Mariama Dajalo. Photo: © APFMariama Djaló was born on 25.05.1969 in Guinea Bissau. She has a degree in Education Science. Mariama belongs to a practicing community. Her fight against FGM began in Guinea and continued in Portugal with actions of training and awareness-raising in communities. She has collaborated in the “Replace II” and Musqueba Movement in the Project “Network against FGM”. Currently is doing a master degree in Education and Training with a specialization in Social and Cultural Development.

 

 

 

 

 

Mariama Lopes. Photo: © APFMariama Lopes was born on 13.04.1975 in Guinea Bissau. She has a degree in medicine with a specialization in Hospital Assistant of Infectious Diseases. Mariama belongs to a practicing community. She has participated in awareness-raising campaigns about FGM. Also, she was a speaker at different meetings on this topic. She feels that as a woman, a mother and doctor she has to be active in the fight against FGM to secure the future of many girls.

was born on 06.08.1992 in Guinea Bissau. He has a degree in Political Science and International Relations and is currently doing his master in Development and International Cooperation. Tcherno participated in the project "Create Youth Network" and took part in a research on the incidence of FGM in Portugal. He is president of Guineans Students Association in Lisbon.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ussumane Mandjam. Photo: © APFUssumane Mandjam was born on 29.09.1980 in Guinea Bissau. He belongs to a practicing community. Ussumane holds a degree in Public Administration and Territorial Policy. He is working for the association “Children and Friends of Farim”. He fights against FGM because he wants to ensure that his futures daughters will not undergo this horrible practice. He has given diverse interviews to newspapers for the need to fight FGM.
